1. Name the tree that the acorn grows into.

2. What things does a seed need to grow ?

Ans)A seed needs sunlight, water, minerals and soil to grow.


3. How many describing words can you find in this poem ?

Ans)Slowly, Mossy, Thread, Like, Tiny, Slender are the describing words from the poem.

Look at Picture 1. Write three sentences on what the trees give us.

1. Trees give us fruits and vegetables.

2. They give us oxygen.

3. They give us wood to make furniture.

4. They give us medicine.

5. They have branches on which birds build their nests.

6. The animals take rest under the shadow of trees.


Now look at Picture 2. Write 3 sentences on how we harm the trees.

1. We harm trees by cutting their barks to make rubbers and tyres.

2. We harm trees by cutting them to use wood to make furniture, use wood as fuel etc.

3. We harm trees by cutting their branches as a result birds cannot build their nests on it.

4. We harm trees by encouraging deforestation at the time of construction of new factories, buildings etc.


These words describe the parts of a tree. Write them in the given space.

1. Stem -It helps the tree in standing straight.

2. Bark- It is the outer most layer of the main stem of a tree.

3. Leaves- They prepare food for the tree during the presence of sunlight.

4. Branch-They bear leaves, fruits and flowers on them.

5. Twigs- Twigs are slender branches that grow from thicker branches of a tree.

6. Root - It is a part of a tree which grows inside the soil and helps the tree to stand straight by holding the soil tightly and also prevents soil erosion.

7. Shoot - It is the new growth from the seed after the plantation of a seed & then seed germination.
