 A dialogue between a shopkeeper and you on repairing the punctured tyre of your bi-cycle.


I : Uncle, are you busy with your work?


Shopkeeper : Yes, but you can tell me your problem.


I : I am now in a terrible crisis. The front tyre of my bi-cycle has a sudden puncture.


Shopkeeper : Ok, you just wait for minutes. After finishing my present work, I will repair the tyre.


I : But Uncle, I am now on my way to school.


Shopkeeper : When will you have to reach your school?


I : Within 10:45 a.m. Uncle, is it possible for you to manage some time for me ? It would be a great help.


Shopkeeper : Well, let me see to the matter. (After a few minutes). Your bi-cycle is now ready for enabling you to reach school on time.


I : How much will I have to pay uncle?


Shopkeeper : 20 rupees only.


I : Here it is. Thank you so much for your quick service.


Shopkeeper : I have just done my duty. You don’t forget yours’ -attending school and reading attentionally.


I : Well uncle, I will never forget your words. Bye.



12. Write a story (within 100 words) using the given hints. Give a title to the story.

Once a crow stole a piece of meat from a butcher’s shop. He put the piece of meat in his beak and flew away to a nearby tree. He sat on a branch and was about to eat the meat. At this moment, a fox was passing under the tree. The fox saw the piece of meat and felt greedy. She wanted to get the gobbet. So, she thought of a plan. She began to flatter and praised the crow about his talent as a singer. The crow was clever enough to realise the fox’s ply. He kept the meat under his feet and started singing. Completely humbugged by the crow, the fox left the place.
