Sub: Irregular clearance of garbage

Sir,

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to express my concern about the irregular clearance of garbage in my locality that has made the lives of the people living here unbearable. The environment of the locality has become unhygienic. The garbage bins and the pavements are overflowing with heaps of waste. The uncollected garbage is left to rot and the air is filled with foul smell. This is also creating health hazards. The locality has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies that spread diseases like cholera and malaria. Some residents suffering from such diseases have already been hospitalized. If measures are not immediately taken for regular removal of garbage in the area, then the spread of diseases might rise to alarming proportions.

I would therefore, on behalf of the residents of the locality, request the authorities to arrange for regular disposal of garbage.

A letter to the Editor of a newspaper is a formal letter usually read by a large

number of people. It should be to the point, clear and brief. It generally has eight parts:

একটি সংবাদপত্রের সম্পাদক কে লেখা চিঠি বা সম্পাদকীয় হলো একটি প্রথাগত চিঠি যা সাধারণত বিপুলসংখ্যক পাঠক পড়েন । এই চিঠি টি স্পষ্ট, সংক্ষিপ্ত ও যথাযত হওয়া উচিত। এটির সাধারণত আটটি অংশ থাকে:

1 . To whom you are addressing the letter (name, designation and address of the addressee) আপনি যাকে চিঠিটি সম্বোধন করছেন (নাম, পদবী এবং ঠিকানার ঠিকানা)

2 . Subject of the letter in brief চিঠির বিষয় সংক্ষিপ্ত ভাবে প্রকাশ

Sub: Problems faced by commuters due to reckless driving

Sir, 

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to vent out my concern about the reckless driving of public vehicles in our locality. Reckless driving of public vehicles such as autos, buses, and trucks has made the life of commuters as well as pedestrians risky and unbearable. It is high time drastic steps should be taken against such intoxicated drivings. The drivers of most of the vehicles are careless. They do not observe the traffic rules. Most of the drivers are illiterate and get their driving licenses by some unfair means. They are fond of overtaking and high speed which is a positive threat to the commuters as well as the pedestrians. It results in havoc and terrible accidents and costly lives are lost or people become handicapped.

I would therefore, on behalf of the commuters of the locality, request the authorities to deploy traffic personnel, control the speed level of the vehicles, and take rigid steps against the violators of the rules.
