Sir, 

    I shall be highly obliged if you kindly allow me to express my views about the increase in the number of accidents due to indiscriminate use of mobile phones in the ‘Letter to the Editor’ column of your esteemed daily.

Nowadays the number of accidents is increasing because of the indiscriminate use of mobile phones. Despite several road safety programmes,

the number of accidents is on the rise and the reason behind most of that is mobile phones. People often cross roads while talking on mobile phones or with earphones on which increases the chance of accidents. Mobile phones should not be used while driving either.

Therefore, I request the authorities to take effective remedial steps so that the common people and pedestrians become alert.
