Write a story in about sixty words based on the following hints :

an old farmer calls his lazy sons - asks them to dig up treasure stored in the field-sons dig up field but find no treasure-farmer asks them to sow seeds - a rich harvest - sons understand the value of hard work

The Old Farmer and His Lazy Sons

1. Once there lived an old farmer in a village.

2. He was a very hard-working person.

3. He had four sons who were very lazy.

4. They had never gone to the fields to help his father.

5. The farmer was very anxious about their future.

6. As he grew older, his worries increased day by day.

7. One day, he thought of a plan to give a lesson.

8. He called his sons and told them that there was a treasure buried in a field.

9. They should dig the field to find out the treasure and he would share the treasure among them.

10. At once, they went to the field and started digging.

11. They dug the whole field but did not find the treasure.

12. The farmer now asked them to sow seeds in the dug field.

13. A few months later the field was filled with golden crops.

14. The farmer asked them to sell all the crops.

15. They sold the crops and got a lot of money.

16. They understood the value of hard work and became active from then.

Moral: i) Hard work leads you to success.

ii) Fruits of labour are sweet.
